Terms of Service

1. The service

Shuke offers speaking practice in English and Chinese: read a short article, retell it out loud, get AI feedback, retell it more concisely and compare the two takes. AI feedback is for practice only, may contain mistakes, and is not professional advice.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure.

3. Subscriptions, free trial and auto-renewal

• New users can complete one diagnostic session for free. After that, full access requires an active subscription (including a free trial).
• Subscription options: annual (with a [7]-day free trial) and monthly. Prices are shown on the App Store purchase screen and may vary by region.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. If you don't cancel during the free trial, it converts to a paid subscription and you are charged when the trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases directly.

4. Your content

You own the recordings you make and the transcripts generated from them. You allow us to process this content to provide the service, including through third-party AI providers, as described in the Privacy Policy. We never use your content to train AI models.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service unlawfully, interfere with how it runs, reverse engineer it, scrape it, or resell its content. Articles are owned by their authors or by us and are provided for your personal practice only.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. [Limitation of liability clause to be completed by counsel]

7. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously breach these terms.

8. Governing law and disputes

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about material changes. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
